As a Child of God, What Does the Future Hold?

When God created the world, Adam and Eve lived in perfect fellowship with Him. But sin broke that relationship. Even though Christ paid the price of our sin and made our relationship with God right again, we still live in an imperfect world. It’s hard to imagine life without sin; but one day God will make all things new, and He will dwell with us for all eternity.

As we Talk About restoration this week, let’s remind our children of these important truths:

If you have trusted in Jesus, you are forgiven and your future is secure.
One day, we will be with God forever.
As we wait for Christ’s return, we can spend our time loving God and sharing His word with others.

Living in the tension between the now and the not yet causes us to realize this world isn’t our forever home. We’re not yet in the presence of God’s eternal glory, but we do have the opportunity to glorify God now. As our families share the Gospel, worship the Lord and serve those around us, we can bring the world a small glimpse of the great restoration that is yet to come.
