Disappearing Footprints
Go outside on a sunny day. Along with your child, step in a puddle or on a wet towel and make footprints on the sidewalk or in your driveway. Watch the footprints disappear. Ask your child what things in their life will last forever and never disappear. Remind your child those are the things we should treasure.

Dear God, thank You for everything we have been given. Thank You for giving us Your Word, the Bible. Thank You also for our friends and family. Help us to choose to value the things that will last forever more than our stuff that may be gone tomorrow.

Piggy Banks
Featured
Make a piggy bank out of a shoebox or jar. Let your child decorate it using stickers or paint. Brainstorm with your child and come up with a list of the things God wants us to treasure. Write each of those things on its own piece of paper. Gather all of the papers and one by one put them in the piggy bank. As you do, read and pray for each of those things together.
Find
This week’s verse is in the book of Matthew. Help your child find the book of Matthew. Is this book in the Old or New Testament? How many chapters are there?
Treasure Hunt
Create a treasure hunt by leaving clues around the house or neighborhood. Make the “treasure” a special treat (e.g. popcorn or cookies). While enjoying the treat together as a family, talk about the treasure in heaven God wants us to be searching for in our lives.
