Who is a Disciple?

When someone mentions they’re Christian, it feels like we need to clarify what that means. Some people identify as “Christian” because they aren’t Jewish, Muslim or Buddhist. Some people think they’re Christians because they grew up in a church and learned a few Bible stories.

We want so much more than this definition of Christianity for our kids. We want them to be disciples of Jesus — someone who follows His will, His Word and His ways. This week, we will read how Jesus called each of His disciples by name and invited them to follow Him throughout life. And we’ll learn that Jesus still invites people to become His disciples today.

Mom, Dad, your kids are following YOU. Are you leading them in the ways of Jesus? You may feel like you aren’t sure, and you may feel like you’re not equipped. But there is no perfect time to be ready. You just simply have to start. And there’s no better day than today.
