OT–NT Connection
While Genesis shares about the creation of our world, the New Testament has things to say about creation too! This week’s memory verse comes from a passage that talks about why we were created. Let’s read about it in Colossians 1:13-17.
Who were all things created through and for?
How can you glorify Christ in your everyday life this week?
Did God create everything in only six days?
Yes! That is what the Bible tells us in Genesis chapter 1. To a human, this may seem impossible, but our God is not human. He is all-powerful, and His Word is never wrong (John 17:17). Earth was not created from an explosion billions of years ago. We serve an incredible God who spoke our world into being in six literal days.
What does it mean that I was created for God?
We are God’s creation, and He loves us. He desires a relationship with us. He does not need our praise. But He, our Creator, is deserving and worthy of our praise. Psalm 150 calls for every breathing thing to praise the Lord.
Journal
Grab a camera and head to one of your favorite places. Maybe that’s the backyard, the kitchen or even the front porch step. Take a photo of something God created that brings you joy. Now, print and tape the photo into your journal or write a paragraph in your journal about that item. Thank God for that item.
