As a Christian, What Should I Think About?

Following Jesus with our actions is important, but this week we want to show our kids we can follow Jesus with our thoughts, too!

Our minds are an essential part of our walk with Jesus. When we consider sin issues in life, they almost always start out with an unchecked thought. And what we think about affects our actions, relationships and future. This is why Paul encouraged the believers in Colossians 3:2 to: Set [their] minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

What if we practiced taking every thought captive in obedience to Jesus like Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10:5? This week, take the opportunity to share with your kids a time you needed to refocus your thoughts from the things of this world to thoughts of things above. Doing this with your kids might feel a little vulnerable. But teaching your children to become followers of Christ in both thought and action is worth every moment you invest. Remember, you can do this. We are with you and praying for you, always.
