What Should I Pray About?

What do I do when I don’t know what to pray?

God wants you to talk with Him about everything going on in your life. He knows your heart and emotions, and He can handle what is going on in you and your life. But there will be times when we just don’t know what to do or how to pray. When that happens you can go to the Bible and pray God’s truth you find written there!

Thank You, God, that Your purpose and plan are always best. Help us to remember to want what You want for our lives. Help us to be a family that is known for looking to You for guidance. Thank you, God, for hearing us when we pray. Amen.

When was the last time you had to submit to God’s will for your life? What did you have to do? Was it difficult? Did you see how God’s plan was better than what you had wanted?

Jesus spent hours walking and talking with His disciples. Take a walk outside with your child. As you walk, ask them about their friends and activities and how they feel. Ask how you can be praying for them, and then pray for them as you walk.

This week’s story is found in the book of Mark. Help your child find the book of Mark. Is this book in the Old or New Testament? How many chapters are there?

What creations can you make out of clay with your child? As you create, talk about how you are shaping the clay into whatever you want it to be. When we pray and ask God to shape what we want into what He wants, He is faithful to do that!
