OT–NT Connection
When Jesus was on Earth, He shared the same message God the Father shared in the Old Testament: There is only one God. Read John 17:1-5.
What does Jesus tell His Father in verse three that we heard in this week’s lesson from Isaiah?
Now read the story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal, found in 1 Kings 18:20-39.
How did God show there is no one and nothing like Him?
Why would a perfect, all-powerful God be interested in me?
Featured
God is interested in you because He loves you. John 3:16 tells us God loved us so much He sent His only Son to save us. He is our Creator. Even though we sin and disobey God, He never stops loving us.
Is the God of Christianity the same as the god of Islam and other religions?
Featured
No! Because of sin, humans try to invent other gods that will allow us to live apart from the one true God’s will, but there are no other gods. Our God has always existed, even before the creation of the world (Genesis 1:1). No other “god” has.
If you compare religions in detail, you will see no other religious book is like the Bible. That’s because the Bible is inspired by God, not by man (2 Timothy 3:16). It is truth, and it declares there are no other Gods (Isaiah 44).
