How Can I Gain Wisdom?

How many times have you felt completely lost as a parent? Whether it’s deciding what events your kids can participate in, who they’re allowed to hang out with, or how to help them grow spiritually, parenting never seems to be a straight and easy path.

During the years I raised my six kids, I read books, talked to friends and listened to radio programs for advice. And while all those things were helpful, I learned the only way I could truly have peace about my parenting decisions was to trust in the Lord with all my heart and not lean on my limited understanding.

Trusting in the Lord to guide you instead of following what everyone else is doing will be challenging. Sometimes the path you choose will make you unpopular with other parents and maybe even your kids. This week, when you’re faced with a decision and don’t know where to turn, ask God to make your paths straight.
